Rizalyne Valdez-McCray was born and raised in Honolulu where she graduated from Moanalua High school in 1990. Continuing her education she enrolled at Med-Assist School of Hawai’i and got her Medical assistant certification in 1992. She worked in various private practices in OB-Gyn, Rheumatology and Gastroenterology just to name a few.

Deciding to broaden her horizons, she relocated in San Diego, Ca in the city of Chula Vista in 2000 working as a full time medical assistant at the Rheumatology dept. at the Anderson Outpatient clinic at Scripps Torrey pines. In April of 2002 she joined the Navy Reserve and drilled one weekend a month at naval air station North Island. She served as a Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class with Operational Support Center Detachment F and conducted physical and dental examine for Navy reserve personnel. Mobilizing in 2006 for a year in support of Iraqi Freedom with Naval Medical Center San Diego was a huge experience for her. She stayed on active duty September 29, 2007 where she managed 5 full time support staff and 35 reservists who provide acute medical care to over 3,500 reserve personnel regionally. She was also the Medical retention review coordinator and lauded for her medical retention review case folders organization. This program has since been used as an example with Reserve component command southwest “best practices.”

She completed her Bachelor in Business administration/health management in 2010 from American Intercontinental University. On September 2011, she moved back to Hawai’i so she could continue her education in health care administration.

She is happily married to Paris McCray Sr., has two kids, Milani and Mahealani, and a Shih Tzu named Chico. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, going to the beach, spending time with friends, entering wacky 5k races as well as enjoying her family. Joining San Miguel Endocrine Inc. in 2013 she is happy to be part of a great organization.
